One of those moments

It was a wonderful day, the sun was shining, and the sky was cloudless. Harm was sitting under a three, with Mac between his legs and their son played in the grass in front of them. Ben would be a year next week, and he had already started walking and talking. They were in Washington DC for the week, to spend time with their friends. With Mac in charge of Joint Legal Service of South West, they didn’t have much time for vacation. So now they were relaxing, and spending time as a family. Harm was working for a law firm, and had much more time off than his wife. He enjoyed spending time with his son, and their daughter. Mattie had recovered well after her accident. She was walking on her own, and was back to her old self.

After their transfer out of JAG in Washington, it took three months until they could be together. Since Mac won the coin toss, Harm reassigned his commission. He had to stay in Washington DC for three months until his request for terminal leave came true.

After Harm came to San Diego, Mac and Harm immediately tried to get pregnant. Two months later, Mac was pregnant the natural way. Their four percent miracle came in to the world nine months later. They were finally a complete family.

Since they so seldom came to visit, Harriet had arranged a picnic in their honor.

Harm enjoyed sitting under the tree with Mac, and watch their friends have fun.
Both Creswell girls, Mike, Vic, Jen, Mattie and James were playing volleyball; witch was difficult with all four of the Roberts children running around in their way. Harriet and Bud tried to get the kids away from the players, but it was impossible.

Sturgis and Varese were lying on a blanket getting some sun, and the Creswell’s were in charge of the barbeque.

Harm noticed that James and Jen looked very cosy. They were standing close, and seamed more interested in each other than the game.

“Looks like someone like each other.” Mac obviously could read his mind.

“You think so?” He asked worried.

“She’s a grown women Harm. I think they are cute.” Mac turned in his arms. “ One of those moments; when life intersect, and there’s not a traffic light to be found.” She smiled at him.

Harm had to smile to, and he kissed her. Then he got serious again. “It’s Vic’s brother. He’s probably just as slimy.”

“No, he’s not. James is very nice; I talked to him earlier, he’s nothing like Vic.” She gave him one of her stares. “And they really like each other, so you are not going to get all big brother and ruin anything! Do you understand?”

“Okay, I’ll be nice. You are really bossy.” He hugged her close. “But I love you, so I’ll let it pass.” He kissed her hair.

She turned in his arms and captured his lips; soon they were lost in each other.

“Harm, Mac! The food is ready.” Harriet yelled at them.

Harm released Mac. “I guess we should eat.” He kissed her again, and motioned for them to stand up.

“Yes, I guess we should. I’m starving.” She took his hand.

“Come on Ben, it’s time to eat.” Harm released Mac, and lifted his son in to his arms. He held Ben in one arm, and put the other one around his wife.

Mac looked up and met his eyes. “I love you Harm.”

Harm smiled at her. “I love you too baby.” And he did love her. More than she would ever know.
