"Lower...lower...Harm please!"
By TR

AJ walked into JAG headquarters and stopped, frowning at the sight before him.

"Petty officer Coates, is there a particular reason why half of my staff is huddled outside my office door?"

Coates gave a half backward glance, keeping her ear to the door. "Sshh!" She said, then added "Sir" as an afterthought.

He lowered his voice. "What’s going on?"

"The Colonel and Commander."

"Rabb and Mackenzie?"

"Who else Sir?"

"What are they doing? Are they at it again?"

She smirked. "In a manner of speaking."

"What are you talking about? Let me through!"

He stepped forward, and feeling only slightly ridiculous, pressed his ear to door.

"Harm!" Mac’s voice was filled with breathless need.

"Again?"

"Yes! Come here!"

He heard a sigh of male frustration. "My hand’s getting tired!"

"Please!" Her voice turned from frustrated to pleading. "I need you."

"Mac..."

"Harm, you’re the only one who can do it for me!"

"You are insatiable, woman!"

"You have no idea Commander. Mmm…yes! Oh that feels good!"

"There?"

"Yeah. Oh! Over to the right, just a hair. Ah, don’t stop!" She said on a sigh.

AJ turned back to Coates. "How long have they been at it?"

"Over an hour."

"What? And she still wants…? Never mind. I need my office. Knowing those two this could go on for days."

"It already has been for years," Harriet said.

"Can’t argue with you there." He looked around. "Alright everyone, back to work, I’ve got to go in and break this up."

"Good luck Sir!" Coates said, and stood to the side hoping to catch a glimpse of the action in the office.

AJ closed his eyes, trying with all his might to keep a straight face. Slowly he opened the hatch. Their voices grew louder, carried into the hallway where their co-workers were pretending to mind their own business.

"You like that?" Harm asked.

"Oh you have no idea!" Mac said in a voice that rivaled warm chocolate. "Has anyone told you how wonderful your hands are?"

"Well..."

"Colonel! Commander! Would you like to tell me what exactly is going on here?"

Two sets of shocked eyes stared back at their CO. Mac was leaning over bracing her hands on the Admiral’s desk, Harm stood close behind her. He had one arm around her holding her steady, while his other arm was working to beat the band.

Their covers and brief cases were in their respective chairs. Mac had her uniform jacket off and draped over her arm.

She began. "Sir, I uh..." Her breath caught in her throat as Harm hit a particularly sensitive spot.

"Sir. Mac came in contact with some particularly potent stinging nettles this weekend."

AJ stepped closer, and saw that Harm’s still working arm was scratching Mac’s back and sides. "How did you manage that Mac?"

"When we touched down in a clearing to eat our…uh…lunch. Harm don’t stop, move down lower. Lower! This is driving me nuts!"

"I can’t go any lower, in present company. And I have to stop at some point or I’m going to claw you bloody!"

She turned her head and whispered in his ear. "I guess turn about’s fair play. If I remember correctly I clawed you..."

"Need I remind either of you how keen my hearing is?"

They jumped apart, stayed within reach. "Sorry Sir."

AJ folded his arms. "I take it you were...flying...together this weekend?"

"Yes Sir."

"And do I want to know how you managed to get stinging nettles all over your back Mac?"

She reddened. "Uh...I doubt it Sir."

"I see. Our meeting is postponed until you can get the proper treatment Mac. May I suggest Commander that you take your...partner...to the nearest drug store. Get her a vat of Calamine lotion, dip her in it, and meet me back here in two hours."

Harm sighed. "Yes sir."

"Oh and Harm, Mac, if you two are going to continue ‘clawing’ each other. I’d prefer you don’t use my office to do so."

"Yes Sir."

He looked them both in the eye. "I’m going to need some advanced warning if you two are going to make this permanent." He held up his hand stopping their futile protests. "I’ve got excellent hearing, remember? Don’t even try to deny it. No visible claw marks, and no eloping! Am I clear?"

"Yes Sir."

"Thank you. You’re dismissed, and close the hatch on the way out."

The grin that had been waiting in his eyes took over the moment they walked out the door. Muttering, "It’s about bloody time", he hit the intercom. "Petty officer Coates please let Lieutenant Simms know that I’d like to see her."

Harriet stepped through the door. Fully prepared with the office pool tally in hand. "How much Sir?"

"A thousand dollars Harriet."

She let out a low whistle. "Wow, that’s the highest stake yet. What’s your time frame?"

"A week 'til the ring. A month 'til the wedding."

She laughed. "Really?!" He nodded. "You got it Sir. Anything else?"

"Not right now Harriet, but I’ll let you know."

"Yes Sir!"

She nearly galloped out of the room, anxious to tell Bud the news.

*********************************************
45 minutes later

Harm turned over, pulled Mac’s naked body on top of him, and squeezed half a bottle of Calamine lotion onto her back. His hands moved gently over her as he caressed the angry welts that peppered her skin. She lowered her mouth to his. Kissing him soft and slow.

"Thank you."

"It’s the least I can do. I didn’t mean to lay you down in a bed of nettles. That’s not very romantic at all!" They both laughed.

"No I don’t think that’s how the song goes," she said, then closed her eyes and buried her face against his neck. "Oh that feels good!"

"There?"

"MMm…don’t stop!"

"I won’t. You think when the Admiral told me to dip you in a vat of Calamine lotion, that this is what he had in mind?"

She laughed. "Hard to say Harm. He did give us two hours to take a fifteen minute trip to the drug store."

Their eyes met. "He knew," They said in unison.

"We’ll have to find a way to thank him," Harm said.

"We can just find out from Harriet when he’s set to win the betting pool."

"Oh, I forgot about the betting pool!"

"Harm keep rubbing. I only remember it because I heard Harriet talking about it to Coates. You know he put money in when he saw us together in his office."

Harm laughed. "I’m sure he did. I guess I’ll have to find out his time schedule before I can give you that ring I have sitting in the top drawer of my dresser."

Her face went blank with shock. "Ring?"

"Yes."

"Can I at least see it?"

"No, I don’t want to ruin the whole surprise. You sure you want it?"

"I’m sure I want it. And you." He laughed again when she glanced over at his dresser. "Patience is a virtue Mackenzie."

"So is endurance Rabb. Keep rubbing. Lower. Lower...Ah...Lower. Right there!"

The End.
