“This was a great idea for a vacation, Mac. Thanks for thinking of it.”

Harm was a vision to behold as he relaxed on the blanket, wearing only his old nylon swim shorts. Mac had been mesmerized by his chest before she had actually seen it without a shirt. It was a shame thinking of some of his better attributes being hidden beneath the uniform. Although Mac didn’t mind that she was now privy to what he had usually disguised with at least a muscle shirt. While she had a hint of what had been under those uniforms and shirts, she had really only seen them once before they had decided to marry. That had been the first time they thought Webb had died. She could still remember the rush she had endured when he had pranced out of his bedroom to turn the heat up for her wearing only his boxers.

Talk about heat. The memory still warmed her blood. When he had stepped close to him, she had been hard pressed to look anywhere but at that chest. She had wanted to touch him, taste him, then and there. But he had gone back to bed alone and she had contented herself by stripping down his gun...when she had wanted to strip him down.

“My pleasure...or I hope it will be after you get some rest,” Mac laughed as she let sand trickle through her fingers and onto Harm’s chest. “Like the sands through the hour glass...”

“What are you doing?” Harm asked, sitting up and brushing the sand off his naked chest.

“Hey, you’re brushing our life away!” Mac scolded him, knowing he wasn’t as put out as he tried to sound.

“Am not...those grains of sand are not our life.”

“Oh yeah?” Mac loved to challenge him, tease him.

“Yeah.”

“So how would you describe our life?” she baited him trying to get his attention on her and the fact they were alone. Mattie and their baby girl were spending the day with his mother and step-father.

“Idyllic?”

“No way...its not ideal...if it was you wouldn’t be exhausted and I wouldn’t be feeling neglected,” Mac admitted.

“Do you really feel neglected?” Harm asked, sitting up now, his attention on his wife.

“Right now, no...sometimes in the past two years...yes.” Mac knew that holding back did nothing for their relationship while opening up kept things interesting.

“I’m sorry Mac...I’ve really tried to be there for you...for our daughters.”

“You have...that’s not exactly what I meant...I don’t feel alone. You’re a great dad.”

“But? Come on Mac. I hear a ‘but’ in there somewhere don’t I?”

“Maybe...yes.”

“So tell me. Mac, I can’t fix it if you don’t tell me.”

“I know and you can’t fix everything Mr. Hero. It’s just....well do you remember that old joke?”

“Which old joke Mac?” Harm rolled his eyes.

“The one comparing a female Marine...”

“Absolutely. Am I missing some thing here, Mac?” Harm shaded his face so he could watch her.

“Did I tell you why a female Marine is like the Energizer Bunny? I mean, I know you think you know the answer, but you haven’t heard my answer?” Mac demanded, more serious then playful at the moment.

“So are you going to tell me?” Harm asked leaning back on his elbows again enjoying the warmth of the sun.

“I guess...” Mac leaned over and whispered in his ear.

“Yellow light, Mrs. Rabb,” Harm grinned using the old warning system the Navy had introduced not long before they had met.

“Oh, come on, Harm. Haven't we reached the point where we can drop the traffic signals? I mean, we’ve been married two years this week, you goof ball!” Mac threw herself on top of Harm’s chest and kissed him soundly ending their giggles and laughter.

“Keep kissing me like that and you’ll find out that a sailor can out do that bunny...or the female Marine...any day.”

“You want to find out right here? Mac asked caressing him gently down his chest and lower to his shorts.

“Kinky.”

“Is not.”

“On second thought, let's not!” Harm declared, standing up, keeping her in front of him while he grabbed up their things and headed back to the ocean side cottage they had rented on this secluded stretch of beach. Their laughter floated up and down the beach and out onto the water. Harm’s rest in the sun and Mac’s honesty about her feelings lead to a very enjoyable afternoon for the two of them as they promised not to let either of them feel neglected again.

That’s all for now folks!
