Time for happiness. July challenge.
My muse hit me, and I
needed some happy Harm and Mac! Season nine was so…not
happy.
I hope you like it.
Time for happiness
It
was sunset; the beach was empty and quiet. Just the way they wanted
it, time for them to talk without interruption. The last month had
been hectic for them, no time to be a couple. That was what these
weeks were about; their future together.
Ever since Paraguay they
had been together every possible minute. They finally let go, and
said the words; I love you. Three simple words, but so hard to
say.
He’d been flying for the company for six months, but
was now back at JAG again. She was relieved to have him back in the
office, he could tell. The worry in her voice every time they talked;
the worry in her eyes every time they met. He hated it!
He was
glad to be back, glad to be back with her. Even though they didn’t
get to work together as much as before he resigned, he didn’t
care; he got to see her every day. They were both very busy, and
didn’t have much time to be boyfriend and girlfriend. They were
getting sick of running between two apartments. Ever since Christmas
most of their time together was spent in his apartment. He had Mattie
to think about now. Between work and a teenage girl, they decided
that they deserved a vacation. They had just started their second
week in his parents vacation house in Florida. The first week was for
love and relaxing, now the heavier subjects would be discussed.
Mac
sighted. “It’s so beautiful here.” She sat down in
the sand.
He looked at her, and smiled. “I know.”
He sat down behind her, and wrapped her in his arms.
“I
love it her.” She leaned close to him.
“I know.”
He kissed her neck.
“I want to stay here forever.”
She turned, and met his lips in a soft kiss. When it ended she rubbed
her nose to his.
“I’d like that too.” He
kissed her again. “But I think we should go back. I don’t
want to be convicted for desertion.”
“Okay, so we
go back.” She smiled at him. “To our busy life.”
“We’ll
just have to make time for us somewhere in our schedules. Look at Bud
and Harriet, two kids, both working full time…Hell, when do
they have time to be happy?”
“They don’t
have to find time. They just are.” She looked at him softly.
“Don’t you really want that?”
“I am
happy Mac.” He kissed her again. “With you, Mattie and
work. I just wish there were more time to sit down and just be.”
“I
know, I’m happy too you know…I love you.” Her
smile melted his heart.
“I love you too.” They
looked at each other for a long time.
“Maybe we
should buy a house?” He got a serious look on his face. “It
would make it easier down the road…when we get married, have
kids…we are practically living together already.”
“When
we get married? And when will that be?” She looked at him
curiously.
“Well first you have to say yes.” He
held a ring in front of her, and smiled. “So what do you say
Mackenzie? You want to buy a house, get married, have my kids?”
She
smiled at him, thinking that she was the luckiest woman alive. God
she loved him! “Yes I will.” She kissed him with all that
she had. “I love you so much Harm.”
“I love
you so much Sarah.” He slid the ring on her finger, and kissed
her.
It was their time for happiness!
