Giving Up...March 2008 challenge lines
Disclaimer: I do not
own JAG or its characters. They belong to DPB and CO. I am taking
them out for this little snippet.
This little snippet came to
me last night and I wanted to expand on it this morning. I hope you
like it. My take on Mac is a little out character but i wanted to put
her feelings down as a woman instead of the Marine.
This was
checked for spelling and such by my spell check so if there is any
mistakes they are all mine. Not beta read.
Here we
go........

Mac's
POV
I felt sorry for Harm, having to end someones career in
flying when he had known him during his 'Top Gun' training. Harm's
body language was loud and clear, he felt terrible. Bud and I felt
like a third and fourth wheel in listening to the Captain and Harm
talk and then I caught the last part.
“I know this
changes things Captain. Doesn't mean that one day we can't mend
fences.” Harm said an apologetic voice.
“Yes it does.”
Captain Hochausen said with a 'I am not taking your apology'
voice.
It made me sad that the Captain is refusing to do
anything else besides fly. He could teach on the ground, but instead
he refused to accept the apology for what it was.
As Bud,
Harm, and I made it back to the barracks to pack up to head back to
Washington, I was feeling sympathy for Harm in what he had to do, it
must've been hard to do. I hope he talks to me about it when we get
home and not hold it in.
JAG Headquarters
Falls Church,
Virginia

As we entered JAG Headquarters, we were
greeted with, “The Admiral would like to see you and Commander
Rabb before staff call,” from Tiner.
Harm and I went
into the Admirals office after hearing 'enter' from within.
“How
did the investigation go out in Fallon?” asked Admiral
Chedwiggen.
“Sir, he didn't pass the eye test that was
required to continue to fly when questioned on the stand. He didn't
want to mend any fences with me after the trial.” Harm stated
with a sad voice.
Chedwiggen sighed, “That is too bad.
We could've used his expertise in teaching the younger pilots on the
ground.”
“Yes, sir.” Harm stated with a
sorrowful tone.
“Major, Commander good job. I hope the
next time we have to do this with another pilot that he will be able
to take up teaching instead of giving up everything.”
Chedwiggen said with a sorrowful tone as well. “See you two at
staff call. Dismissed.”
As we exited the Admiral office,
I could only hope that our next assignment won't be as heart
wrenching as this one.
